Everyone says wonderful things about the bagels at Boichik. Yes, those bagels are good. However, not enough praise is given to the spreads. I am not sure what they put in their basic cream cheese spread but it is so unbelievably rich and delicious. Its also "airy". Its light in that it appears to have been whipped a bit. So good. If basic cream cheese doesn't do it for you, try the sun-dried tomato cream cheese. It gives the bagel a more savory vibe. A little more flavor. But not too much. My favorite bagel is the cheesy asiago. They use a high quality asiago so it has a lot of punch. Love it.

Having gone to NYC during the summer, I was craving a good bagel. I've heard a lot about Boichik bagels and thrilled to know there's a few around the bay. The one we visited was on College Ave which is a great walkable area around Berkeley. The line was about 10 people long, but it went by fast. There was a lovely elderly lady who was working in the front who was happy to answer any questions and was super helpful, who took the order via an iPad. We ordered three bagels and they were delicious with a crunch and softness at the same time. Had the plain on plain, plain with lox spread (wish there was more lox though) then one with cucumber and sun dried tomato spread. About $18 for all three. It met my craving for a bagel, but I still miss a good ole NYC bagel.

The BEST bagel shop ever! The bagels are flavorful and so very good! We enjoyed our food so much on Day 1 that we came here again for Breakfast on Day 2 of our trip. The lox, the cream cheese and the bagels were all above expectations! The service was prompt and accurate. The ambiance here is really cool too.. Boychik's makes their bagels on premises. Our LO loved watching the bagel production happening right in front of our eyes. I wish they had Boychik's in Los Angeles! Soooo goood!!!

Boichik is currently my favorite bagel in the Bay Area. I frequent both the Santa Clara and Berkeley location. My favorite bagel is the cinnamon raisin with the hatch chilies cream cheese or whatever is the season cream cheese flavor, which was currently sun dried tomato during this visit. They have a different version of bakers dozen- 12 bagels for the price of 11!
